This design and construct project for a new 3- storey home, was based on the clients brief for a large face brick, robust, ‘traditional’ design that would become their long term base for a growing family that also enabled them to entertain large family gatherings.
The design was inspired by a Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style with its wide overhanging eaves, face brickwork and horizontal banding around the façade.
It is a very substantial home built of concrete, double brick and features recycled timber, stone and other natural materials in the palette to soften its bulk and scale. Over time, the landscaping and feature trees will grow and further settle the building into the site to sit appropriately in its streetscape.
