This project entailed demolition of an existing residence and construction of a contemporary 3 storey home.
Set on a sloping sandy block, steel screw piles were utilised to transfer the building loads down to a suitable bearing level, some 10 metres below the surface. Staggered platforms were then constructed to enable the sandy site to be restrained upon which the highly detailed structure was then constructed.
The project includes a mixed palette of 'natural' materials including recycled timber, recycled brick and polished concrete to create a sense of warmth and texture.
