WINNER 2018 MASTER BUILDERS ‘EXCELLENCE IN HOUSING’ AWARDS - CONTRACT HOUSES $2 million
Built on a sloping sandy block with 6 adjoining neighbours, this project presented structural and logistical challenges that were overcome by use of deep steel screw piling and the forming of staggered platforms across the site to work from.
Post tensioned slabs and beams allowed thinner concrete slab structures (which in turn increased ceiling heights), and reduced reliance of load bearing walls and columns to ensure the ocean views were maximised.
The structure was meticulously setout with minimal tolerances to cater for the large format custom terrazzo flooring and joinery throughout, every detail aligning both in the vertical and horizontal planes of the building.
